Touristic route to Gaztelugatxe

How to get to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe from Bilbao?

Ready to walk where Daenerys Targaryen walked? Our taxi from Bilbao to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe takes you directly to the most iconic Game of Thrones location in the Basque Country, that magical place where fiction met spectacular reality.

Before becoming Dragonstone, this islet was already a jewel of the Basque coastline. A 10th-century chapel perched on a rock, connected to the mainland by a stone bridge that winds to the mainland by a stone bridge that winds over the Cantabrian Sea. 241 steps that defy vertigo, breathtaking views and a legend that says that whoever rings the chapel bell three times will have their wish granted.

Why choose our taxi service from Bilbao to Gaztelugatxe?

Because getting to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe on your own can be an odyssey: buses with limited schedules, car parks that fill up in minutes during high season, narrow mountain roads and mandatory reservations in high season that sell out quickly. We take care of everything.

We pick you up in Bilbao (hotel, airport, station) and take you directly to the trailhead. While you enjoy the scenery, our expert driver will tell you interesting facts about the filming, explain the reservation system and give you practical tips to make the most of your visit.

How long does the journey take?

From the centre of Bilbao to Gaztelugatxe, it takes approximately 45-50 minutes by road. The route passes through spectacular landscapes in the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve, charming fishing villages and views of the Bay of Biscay that are well worth the trip.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had an amazing experience with Gonzalo from Transfer2Bilbao in mid-July. He picked us up at Bilbao Airport and immediately made us feel comfortable. He recommended a great place in Bilbao for a quick bite, then took us to the Guggenheim Museum before driving us all the way to Cantabria to pick up our puppy. Gonzalo was extremely careful and considerate with his driving, especially once we had the puppy with us. On the return trip to Bilbao Airport, he even stopped along the way to get us local pastries to try, which was such a thoughtful touch. Everything went incredibly smoothly from start to finish. We couldn’t recommend Gonzalo and Transfer2Bilbao more! 🚗🐾🥐✨

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Condujo genial. Servicio fenomenal, totalmente recomendable!❤️❤️
